A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has stated that President Bola Tinubu was not elected to “come and play” but to reposition and rebuild Nigeria.
Igbokwe made the remark in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, where he also issued a warning to opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, Tinubu was voted into office to retool and rework the country and should be allowed to carry out that mandate.

“We voted for PBAT to come and retool and rework Nigeria. We did not vote for him to come to play or continue the business as usual,” he wrote.
“No Sir. We have to push this country to rise and work again. If you adamantly stand in the way, you will pay for it.”
InfoStride News reports that opposition leaders have intensified moves aimed at unseating President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections over what they described as the administration’s inability to address the country’s economic and security challenges.
