A chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has disclosed that he and his supporters were not rewarded despite delivering nearly two million votes to late former President Muhammadu Buhari during past elections.
Kwankwaso made the disclosure during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday night.

The former Kano State governor lamented that despite the sacrifices made by his political camp, Buhari’s administration failed to recognise their contributions.
“I worked so hard. We brought about 1.9, almost 2 million votes. But as politicians, we are not recognised. We put our lives even on the line at that time,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we could not see any benefit either as individuals or the constituencies that we represented.”
The former presidential candidate said the experience contributed to his desire for political change in the country.
Kwankwaso also stated that Nigerians were currently dissatisfied with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, insisting that the situation had increased calls for change across the country.
“Everybody knows there are issues with this administration again. And therefore, people are determined at grassroots level, and even at the level we are operating now, that there should be some level of changes,” he added.
