The senatorial hopeful of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo, has urged his supporters to prepare for what he described as an intense contest ahead of the party’s primary election.
Nwankwo made the call shortly after successfully scaling the APGA screening exercise.

His remarks come as the leader of the party and Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, insisted on credible primaries, adopting Option A4 as the mode of election.
Addressing his supporters, Nwankwo commended the APGA Screening Committee for what he described as a thorough and credible exercise, noting that the party has always maintained high standards in its internal processes.
“I’m not new to my people, and my people are not new to me. I have lived most of my life among them and appreciate their problems. That was one of the chief reasons I set up the Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Foundation years ago, through which I have touched many lives.
“I’m ready to do more if given the mandate, but what I’m saying is that all of you must brace up because the primary election will be a tough battle,” he said.
Nwankwo is contesting for the APGA ticket alongside Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe.
The winner of the primary election is expected to challenge the current senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Victor Umeh of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in the 2027 general elections.
