The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has called on governments at all levels to take urgent steps to address the growing insecurity across the country.
The party made the call in a statement issued on Wednesday by its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Sadare.
The APC specifically urged Governor Seyi Makinde to strengthen collaboration with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to curb the rising wave of insecurity in Oyo State.

The opposition party appealed to the federal, state and local governments to work together to find lasting solutions to the security challenges confronting citizens.
“We use this medium to appeal to the relevant authorities at the federal, state and local government levels to take a critical look at the security architecture of Oyo State with a view to tightening all the loose ends and ensuring maximum protection of lives and property regardless of citizens’ background, economic status or socio-political affiliation,” the statement read.
The party expressed concern over the security situation in the state, alleging that residents now live in fear due to increasing incidents of crime and violence.
“No citizen deserves to live in perpetual fear and anxiety as it is the situation with the residents of Oyo State at the moment, and it is on this premise that we call on Governor Makinde to come down from his high horse and seek help where necessary so that the situation does not degenerate further.
“As it stands, nobody is safe anywhere in the state and it has never been this bad,” the party added.
