The Zamfara State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the Federal and state governments to take responsibility for the worsening security situation in the state, following renewed attacks by bandits.
The party, in a statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Kasim AlMustapha, expressed concern over the continued loss of lives and destruction of property, describing the situation as unacceptable.

According to the NDC, residents of several communities continue to live in fear as bandit attacks, kidnappings and other violent crimes persist despite assurances from authorities that the security situation is improving.
The party said governments at all levels have a constitutional responsibility to protect lives and property, urging them to adopt more effective strategies to tackle insecurity across the state.
It also called on security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering and military operations against criminal elements while ensuring those responsible for attacks are brought to justice.
The NDC sympathised with families who have lost loved ones to insecurity and urged authorities to provide adequate support for affected communities.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to advocating policies that would restore peace and improve the safety of residents, stressing that Nigerians deserve a secure environment free from fear and violence.
