Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to caution his supporters over their activities and comments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yesufu made the call while reacting to political developments and growing tensions among supporters of various opposition figures.

She urged Atiku to take responsibility for the conduct of his supporters and ensure that they do not engage in attacks or statements capable of deepening divisions within the opposition.
According to her, opposition politicians must prioritise unity and constructive engagement if they are serious about challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
Yesufu warned that internal disagreements and attacks among opposition supporters could weaken the chances of the opposition at the polls.
She urged Atiku and other political leaders to focus on issues affecting Nigerians rather than allowing supporters to turn political differences into personal conflicts.
The activist also called on opposition supporters to respect one another and engage in healthy political debates without resorting to insults, intimidation or personal attacks.
She maintained that Nigerians seeking political change would expect opposition leaders to demonstrate maturity, unity and a clear vision for the country.
Yesufu urged Atiku to intervene where necessary and ensure that his supporters contribute positively to the opposition’s efforts ahead of the 2027 election.
