Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has addressed the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Scott McTominay’s future. This comes as the midfielder prepares for surgery to correct a heart issue, and fans have been reacting.
Revealing that the procedure will see Scott sidelined through the upcoming international break, Manna stated that McTominay is yet to extend his Napoli contract because common ground has not been found.
Giovanni, however, added that both parties are still very much interested in continuing their relationship beyond the current expiration date of 2028.
His words, “McTominay’s contract renewal? Scott said he doesn’t know if he’ll renew at this time.
He has a two-year contract, we want to do it, and he wants to do it too.
It’s not always easy to make things coincide, but we’re trying.”
