The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has congratulated Nigeria’s Falconets following their impressive round of 16 win against England on Thursday at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Despite finishing second in Group F, the Falconets thrashed England 3-0 thanks to goals from Tosin Rafiu, Janet Akekoromowei and Mary Mamudu.
Reacting to the shocking victory, CAF wrote on their X handle, “QUARTER-FINALS BOUND! 🇳🇬😍.
Nigeria deliver against England to book their place in the #U20WWC last eight! 👏👏.”
The Falconets are set to take on Colombia in the quarterfinal, after the South Americans edged out hosts Poland in the quarterfinals also on Thursday.
