Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has said that the club is counting on Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Despite the Nigerian’s limited involvement in Atletico’s 2-1 victory over Real Madrid, Simeone stated that Lookman‘s unique skill set is the reason why he’ll remain firmly in his plans throughout the season.
Diego, however, added that he expected Ademola to have a greater impact during the Madrid derby.
His words, “He is a footballer who has a profile that we don’t have much. He is the most decisive in one-on-one situations on the edge of the box.
We need him, whether it’s 60, 70 minutes or whatever he plays. He has done us very well since he arrived and although his start to the season is not what he would have wanted, we need him.
We needed the talent of Koke, a little more freshness from Julián, and that Lookman entered better than he did.”
