Human rights lawyer and political commentator, Deji Adeyanju, has alleged that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso are working in the interest of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Adeyanju made the allegation while commenting on the emerging political alignments and opposition activities ahead of the election.
He claimed that the political strategies being adopted by Obi and Kwankwaso could ultimately benefit Tinubu and urged Nigerians to carefully assess the actions and alliances of political actors before making electoral decisions.
According to him, the ongoing realignments within opposition circles could affect the ability of opposition parties and groups to present a unified challenge in the 2027 election.
Adeyanju also criticised what he described as divisions among opposition figures, saying such disagreements could weaken efforts to build a broad political alternative.
He urged Nigerians to pay attention to the records, policies and political activities of candidates and political groups as the 2027 election approaches.
The lawyer’s comments come amid continued discussions over possible alliances among opposition politicians, including Obi, Kwankwaso and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Political parties and various coalitions have continued to hold consultations and reposition their structures as preparations for the 2027 general election intensify.
