Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has said he promised President Bola Tinubu a minimum of two million votes from the state in the 2027 presidential election.
Abiodun made the disclosure on Thursday in Abeokuta while addressing supporters at an event where the Ogun State Transport Unions Alliance endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for the state’s governorship election.

The governor described his pledge as a commitment to mobilise voters across Ogun State to support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“I have threatened Mr President. How did I threaten him? I said, Mr President, on behalf of all the sons and daughters of Ogun State, we will give you a minimum of two million votes,” Abiodun said.
He expressed confidence that the president would receive substantial support from the state, urging residents to participate in the election and encourage their family members to vote.
Abiodun cited the number of people present at the gathering as an indication of the potential support base, suggesting that mobilisation could extend to their households.
He called on supporters to come out en masse on election day and vote for Tinubu, while also urging them to support the APC’s candidates in other contests.
The governor also expressed appreciation to Tinubu, asking those at the event to join him in acknowledging the president.
Abiodun’s pledge comes amid preparations by the ruling APC and opposition parties for the 2027 general elections, with political leaders intensifying grassroots mobilisation ahead of the polls.
The two-million-vote figure represents the governor’s stated target for Ogun State; the eventual number of votes will depend on voter participation and the outcome of the election.
