Musa Kwankwaso, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, has declared that the people of Arewa will support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Kwankwaso said the North-West geopolitical zone was prepared to vote massively for Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election, insisting that the region had made its position clear.

He spoke on Saturday on the sidelines of the APC presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna State, where party supporters and political leaders gathered to endorse the President’s second-term ambition.
According to Kwankwaso, the turnout at the rally demonstrated the level of support Tinubu enjoys in the North-West and reflected the region’s determination to consolidate its political position ahead of the election.
“Today, we of the North-West geopolitical zone have spoken loud and clear on who we stand for. Our choice of Tinubu remains our commitment to a better Nigeria and national cohesion. Arewa will return Tinubu to Aso Rock,” he said.
The APC chieftain maintained that the gathering had sent a clear message to other geopolitical zones about the North-West’s position on the 2027 presidential election.
He said the region was prepared to rally behind Tinubu, adding that the support was based on trust and commitment rather than a transactional political arrangement.
Kwankwaso described Tinubu as the preferred candidate of the North, saying APC members in the region would remain committed to his re-election campaign.
“Asiwaju is the northern candidate, and we will not promote anything outside his ambition because we are trustworthy people, and we shall deliver him come 2027,” he added.
The declaration comes amid intensified political activities ahead of the 2027 general election, with the APC seeking to consolidate its support base across the country.
The Kaduna rally brought together party leaders, governors, government officials and supporters as the ruling party formally commenced its presidential campaign.
However, Kwankwaso’s remarks represent his position and that of the political supporters he spoke for; the eventual voting choices of residents across the North-West will be determined at the polls.
