Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has warned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against supporting candidates of other political parties in the 2027 general elections, insisting that all party candidates must secure victory across the state.
Fintiri gave the warning on Thursday during the inauguration of the Adamawa APC Campaign Council in Yola, where he charged members to work collectively towards delivering electoral victories for the party at all levels.

The governor cautioned that he would not tolerate anti-party activities, particularly voting for candidates outside the APC, warning that those who failed to support the party’s candidates would face the consequences.
Addressing members of the campaign council at the Government House in Yola, Fintiri urged them to close ranks and operate as a united political family.
“We must close ranks and work as a family. All of us must win in our respective local government areas and wards before we can say that we have won,” he said.
He stressed that the party’s campaign must cover every elective position, from the presidency to the National Assembly, governorship and State House of Assembly.
According to him, members should not concentrate solely on the presidential election while neglecting other APC candidates contesting at the state and local levels.
“You either work with us or you are out,” the governor warned.
Fintiri’s remarks come amid the APC’s efforts to strengthen its political presence in Adamawa ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly as the state has traditionally supported former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is now the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Also speaking at the inauguration, Adamawa APC Chairman, Hamza Bello Madagali, urged members of the campaign council to work towards ensuring that no presidential candidate apart from President Bola Tinubu secures 25 per cent of the votes in the state.
Madagali described membership of the campaign council as a privilege and challenged those appointed to justify their positions by mobilising support for APC candidates across the state.
The campaign council has close to 3,000 members and is chaired by Fintiri, with his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, serving as the first deputy chairperson.
The APC governorship candidate, Ahmed Tijani Galadima, is the second deputy chairman, while Madagali serves as the first vice chairman. Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, is the second vice chairman.
The party’s governorship running mate, Adamu Kamale, serves as the third vice chairman, while governorship aspirant Abdulrazak Namdas is the fourth vice chairman.
Solomon Titus was appointed director-general of the campaign council.
Speaking on behalf of the council, Titus assured the party leadership that members would work diligently to secure victory for APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration followed the launch of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Adamawa, an initiative aimed at mobilising support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
With the campaign structures now in place, the APC leadership in the state is seeking to consolidate its support base and ensure that the party secures victories across the ballot in the forthcoming elections.
