A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has declared that President Bola Tinubu cannot secure victory in the 2027 general election through electoral manipulation.
Igbokwe made the remark while reacting to allegations and concerns about possible rigging ahead of the next presidential election.

He maintained that the President and the ruling party should not depend on electoral malpractice to retain power, stressing that the outcome of the election should reflect the decision of Nigerians.
The APC chieftain’s comments come amid growing political exchanges between the ruling party and opposition groups, with several opposition figures accusing the government of attempting to weaken their chances ahead of the 2027 polls.
The opposition has repeatedly raised concerns about the credibility of the electoral process, while the ruling party has faced calls to ensure that the forthcoming election is conducted transparently.
Igbokwe’s position also comes as political activities gather momentum, with parties and their candidates intensifying preparations for the contest.
He stressed that electoral victory should be achieved through the support of voters rather than manipulation of the process.
