Abandoned Chibok Schoolgirl, Traumatised, Four Months Pregnant

Abducted-Chibok-school-grilsOne of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls, who was on Wednesday abandoned by the Boko Haram insurgents for being ‘sick’, Suzana Ishaya, is four months pregnant, chairman of Chibok community in Abuja, Tsambido Hosea Abana, has confirmed.

Abana, who made the disclosure yesterday in a telephone interview, lamented the trauma parents and the abducted girls are going through, saying their lives will never be the same again.

The girl of about 20, was found after she was dumped at an unidentified location from where she had reportedly trekked for three days until she got to a village near Mararaban Mubi, in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

According to a Daily Trust investigation, the name the girl gave was not on the list of 180 names of the abducted schoolgirls released by Evang. Matthew Owojaiye last May, but there is a Suzana Yakubu on that list. It could not be verified if they are one and the same person as at the time of publishing this report.

Abana, who also confirmed that the girl is suffering from Trauma, claimed that there are signs of physical abuse on her, which might be evidence that the insurgents subjected their captives to horrible physical and s*xual abuse.

“Suzana is actually one of our daughters abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok. She was found where her abductors dumped her and was later taken to Yola. The girl is four months pregnant”, he said.

“Evidently, the girl was subjected to serious abuse. There are bruises on her body while she is suffering from psychological trauma”.

He urged the Federal Government to redouble its efforts towards freeing the girls who are still in captivity, as well as bringing the abductors to face justice.
