The Chairman of the House Committee on Media, Abdulrazak Namdas, has described Abdulmumin Jibrin as a desperate man.
Namdas said this, in response to reports that Jibrin had written a letter to President Buhari on the budget padding allegation which he levelled against House Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
The embattled lawmaker had accused Dogara and other principal officers of inflating the 2016 budget.
Namdas also said “His desperation is unfortunate. All the issues he wrote in the letter to Mr. President are not new.
“He already said he petitioned the EFCC, ICPC and other security agencies. Why is it that he doesn’t want the agencies to do their jobs?
“There are so many prominent Nigerians with petitions before the anti-graft agencies; Jibrin is not the only one.
“Is he saying that each of them should turn to the President that he should investigate their petitions?”
Namdas also said Jibrin is a selfish man for calling for the scraping of lawmakers’ allowances.
He said “Is it now that he is no longer benefiting from the allowances that he wants the payments scrapped?”
In September 2016, Jibrin was suspended from the House of Representatives for 180 legislative days following the recommendation of committee on ethics.
