Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba AbdulRasheed Akanbi has said that the ongoing dispute between the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and the state government would soon be resolved.
Abdulrasheed said he had conversated with the Olubadan on the crisis, and the discussion with the governor showed that the issue would soon be resolved.
He said that the governor had shown high level of courtesy and respect for traditional institutions, particularly that of the Olubadan.
The monarch also said that Ajimobi had insisted that the Olubadan was more like a father to him and should be highly respected.
It can be recalled that the state government had, on Aug. 27, elevated and installed 21 new Obas in Ibadan, the state capital.
The elevation and installation of the 21 Obas had generated heat, which led to a face-off between the state government and the Olubadan.
