Because of an incident involving an airplane owned by Aerocontractors that became stalled on the runway, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja has been closed briefly.
In a statement that was released on Sunday, Dr. James Odaudu, who serves in the role of Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), confirmed the new information.
The statement claims that the Lagos-Abuja flight that was operated by Aerocontractors arrived at the airport, but that it became trapped in the grass fringe while attempting to exit the runway.

On Sunday morning, an incident involving a Boeing 733 bearing the nationality and registration marks 5N-BYQ took place.
According to the information obtained by InfoStride News, all of the passengers were able to disembark from the airplane without experiencing any injuries.
The Director General of the NSIB stated that the runway would stay blocked until the aircraft could be hauled off the runway successfully.
He stated, “Upon landing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja from Lagos and in an attempt to exit the runway via A4, the aircraft had its nose wheel stuck in the grass verge with its fuselage on the runway.” The airport is located in Nigeria.
As a direct consequence of this, the runway had to be shut down until the aircraft could be towed off the runway. There were no reports of injuries or fatalities.
“The NSIB, hereby, solicits information from the general public in the form of pictures, video, or recording evidences in order to assist in conducting a comprehensive investigation.”
