Lucky Aiyedatiwa, acting governor of Ondo State, has debunked rumors circulating among members of the State Executive Council, saying that the issue is being stoked by desperate political gladiators.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is now on medical leave abroad owing to an unidentified illness, and in a statement released on Tuesday, Aiyedatiwa stated that he has remained in constant communication with his boss.
The interim governor also reassured the public that Akeredolu will resume his duties as soon as he was medically cleared to do so.
Aiyedatiwa also relayed Akeredolu’s gratitude to the people of the state for their prayers and well wishes, stressing that the governor is in good spirits and making a speedy recovery.
I’ve had contact with him, most recently on July 9, 2023, when he thanked me and the other members of the State Executive Council for keeping things running smoothly while his absence.
For the record, I’d like to say, “I would like to urge the general public, as usual, to ignore these unfortunate lies and subterfuge as the antics of desperate political gladiators across political divides.”
