Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Lamurde Local Government Area with immediate effect, following rising insecurity and violent disturbances in the area.
The announcement was made in a statement released on Saturday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, in Yola.
According to the statement, the curfew is aimed at restoring peace and order in communities affected by recent attacks and unrest within Lamurde LGA.

“The government views these disturbances as unacceptable and has directed security agencies to enforce the curfew strictly,” Wonosikou stated.
He warned that any individuals or groups who defy the curfew order would face arrest and legal consequences, stressing that the directive is part of broader efforts to safeguard the lives and property of residents.
The Chief Press Secretary reiterated the Fintiri administration’s commitment to upholding law and order, assuring citizens that the government is taking all necessary steps to protect them and ensure stability across the state.
Security agencies have been deployed to enforce the curfew and monitor compliance as tension remains high in the affected communities.
