The Adamawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reiterated its decision to boycott the local government election slated for next month.
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has scheduled the council poll for July 13, 2024.
Initially, the APC expressed readiness to participate but later confirmed that it would not partake in the election.

On Saturday, the youth wing of the party announced that it has taken its opposition further by taking legal action against the electoral body and the state government.
In a communiqué signed by Khalil Sajo, the coalition of APC youth groups stated that they have sued the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led state government for “hijacking the local government election process.”
The communiqué, issued after a meeting between the APC state leadership and the Coalition of APC Support Groups at the party’s state secretariat in Yola, revealed that they deliberated on non-participation in the election and resolved that the party would not participate.
Complaining about the composition of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission members, among other issues, the communiqué emphasized that they could not ignore the anomalies.
