The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has alleged that the 2027 general election is already being set up for rigging.
Abdullahi made the claim while featuring on Morning Brief, a programme on Channels Television, on Friday.
Despite the alleged plan, the ADC spokesperson said the opposition would continue to raise concerns to ensure that Nigerians and the international community are aware of what he described as troubling developments.
He warned that opposition parties would not remain silent in the face of what he termed worrying signs within the political environment.
Abdullahi also accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government of being uncomfortable with opposition voices and resistant to scrutiny.
“The election of 2027 is all set to be rigged, and we will not stop saying that. We are not giving up. We have a voice, and we will use it,” he said.
He added, “What you see about this APC government is that they seem to be irritated that there is opposition at all. They seem to feel like, who are these people asking us questions? They would rather we don’t speak at all; they would rather nobody asked questions.”
