Remember the trending #KeepDebbieAlive campaign that was launched early this year to help raise funds for 31-year-old Deborah Osarere Idiagbonya to battle cancer?
Sadly, Debbie has just lost the battle to cancer a few hours ago.
Her close friend and blogger, ‘Gossipgirlie‘ who was with her a few hours before her death shared the sad news on Twitter some moments ago.
Debbie has been living with stage 4 invasive ductal carcinoma since 2012. She’s been in the US, where she was receiving treatments at Howard University Teaching Hospital.
She went on remission between April-September 2014 before the cancer resurfaced and she started a fresh treatment of chemotheraphy. Before she died, her cancer metasized to the bone and skull wall which affected her lungs from functioning well.
Already, some Nigerian celebrities like Adekunle Gold, ID Cabasa, Osi, most of who campaigned for her during the #KeepDebbieAlive project, have all started mourning her demise.
“Debbie Osarere u fought really hard, tho painful to see u go, but rest on sis! Thank u @GossipGirliee for all your effort! U ve my respect.” Id Cabassa.
“Never met anyone so strong like you. Good Night Debbie! ?” Adekunlegold.
“Rest in Peace Debbie. Sad bcos it was very obvious she fought so hard to beat cancer and stay alive.” Osi.
“Waoh… God knows Debbie tried… She was such a fighter !! God bless your soul.” Cutekimani.
