The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Monday, February 6 were given a heroes’ welcome as they arrived home after winning the 2017 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Cameroon on Sunday beat Egypt in the final of AFCON 2017 in Gabon to lift their fifth AFCON title.
The victorious players were welcomed by hundreds of fans at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport.
The squad led by Captain Benjamin Moukandjo wore T-shirts branded with the logo of the next AFCON which they will be hosting in 2019.
At the airport, the players stood and sang the national anthem before they left for their base.
Hundreds of people also followed the team bus as they made their way to their base from the airport.
President of Cameroon Paul Biya is expected to host the triumphant players to a grand ceremony at Presidential Villa.
