African Stars are Namibia League Champions

African Stars have been crowned winners of the 2014/2015 Namibia Premier League, their first title in four years.
The ‘Reds’ as the capital based are nicknamed wrapped up the title on the penultimate day of the season, taming relegation-bound Rebels 4-0 on Sunday (3 May) before signing off in grand style with 3-1 win over Tura Magic in the final game of the season last Sunday (10 May 2015).
African Stars finished on 68 points, 10-points more than rivals Black Africa, which is a record in the history of the Namibian elite division. They have also qualified to play in next year’s CAF Champions League.
It is the third title overall for the Windhoek-based club after their maiden triumph in 2009.
Meanwhile, Rebels and Benfica, the two bottom-placed clubs have been relegated from the top tier.
