Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has come out to say that he hopes Ahmed Musa can feature in Nigeria’s 2022 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in March. Rohr recently revealed that the forward is currently in England to sign for a club, and he hopes everything will be sorted out soon.
According to him, changing teams during a season is always hectic and risky, but he trusts his captain to pull it off and be back on the team.
He added that Musa hasn’t played football for a long time, therefore he needs now to come back in the rhythm of the matches.
His words, “We are in touch with our captain, he is in the United Kingdom now,”
“It’s not so easy to change during the season but he is free to sign where he wants and there’s no obligation to respect the transfer window for him because he was free already.”
“I am very hopeful that he can sign in the next few days, he wanted to come back to Europe and to play in England so it’s not easy during the season but I’m hopeful that he can sign in the club, it’s very important that everybody is playing in their clubs.”
“It’s a long time that he didn’t play, I think since October, so he needs now to come back in the rhythm of the matches.”
On Nigerians, “I hope to see the fans very soon in the stadium, it’s difficult for the fans, we have the pandemic situation for almost one year.”
