Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has declared that key chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Aiyedatiwa, who is the APC’s candidate for the election, asserted that the PDP’s influence in the state has waned, urging residents to vote decisively against the opposition party.
“The PDP’s umbrella has been torn into shreds. I want you to use your votes to chase away other political parties,” the governor said during his campaign tour of Ese Odo Local Government Area on Wednesday.

He emphasized that prominent members of the PDP had aligned with the APC, bolstering the ruling party’s strength ahead of the election.
“All the gladiators in the PDP are now with us. In this coming election, your vote must be for the APC,” Aiyedatiwa added.
During a separate stop in Igbobini, the governor addressed a large crowd of supporters, expressing gratitude for their unwavering support.
“Your loyalty has made the APC stronger in Ondo State, and together we will consolidate our victory,” he told the enthusiastic gathering.
The APC aims to retain power in the upcoming election, riding on Aiyedatiwa’s campaign and the defection of opposition figures.
