The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its support for Senator Godswill Akpabio’s assertion of the party’s intentions to secure victory in the state’s 2027 elections through democratic processes.
The party dismissed the response from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which had challenged Senator Akpabio’s claims.
The PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, had urged Akpabio to acknowledge Akwa Ibom State’s strong PDP roots and focus on addressing alleged corrupt practices in his role as Senate President.
APC’s Response to PDP’s Remarks
In a statement titled “No amount of false propaganda will stop APC from wrestling power from PDP in Akwa Ibom come 2027 election,” the APC’s Publicity Secretary in Akwa Ibom, Iniobong John, labeled the PDP’s reaction as propaganda driven by fear.
John emphasized the APC’s determination to employ lawful and legitimate means to secure victory in the forthcoming elections.
He asserted that Senator Akpabio’s declaration aligns with the aspirations of Akwa Ibom residents, who are eager for a change in leadership.
Rebuttal of PDP’s Allegations
John rebuffed the PDP’s allegations against Senator Akpabio, criticizing them as baseless and indicative of the PDP’s declining standards.
He cautioned the PDP against spreading false and unfounded propaganda about public office holders.
The Akwa Ibom APC’s steadfast support for Senator Akpabio’s electoral plans underscores the party’s confidence and determination to challenge the PDP’s dominance in the state.
