ALEX SANDRO would be a perfect fit for Chelsea if he joins the Blues from Juventus this summer, according to pundit Shaka Hislop.
Sandro has been linked with a mega-money move to Chelsea and today reports claim a £60million fee has been agreed with Juventus.
Hislop is a huge fan of the 26-year-old and says only Real Madrid’s Marcelo is a better left-back than him in the world.
“Without question (Chelsea should go in for him),” Hislop said on ESPN FC.
“Alex Sandro is a perfect fit for anybody and I’ll say this unapologetically, Alex Sandro on my money is the second best left-back in world football. Second only behind Brazilian team-mate Marcelo.
“This is an incredible acquisition if indeed Chelsea are able to finalise a deal and get his signature. Perfect fit without question.”
Hislop believes the signing of Sandro would help keep the likes of Eden Hazard at Chelsea for longer but thinks there still will be questions over how the league champions set up their team next season.
“You’ve just got to start looking at what the knock-on effect maybe, in terms of Eden Hazard and I’m sure there will be lots of speculation about him and his future between now and the end of August,” the former West Ham keeper added.
“There always is, regardless. But as we sit right now I don’t think Eden Hazard leaves Stamford Bridge, this pushes Eden Hazard further up and now you start thinking what Chelsea will look like in 17/18 under Antonio Conte.
“The (Romelu) Lukaku speculation continues, does he play with a front three? How do Chelsea shape up?
“Those are the questions in my mind that start to pop up. Not whether Alex Sandro is a good fit or a good buy because, as I mentioned, without question he is a good fit wherever he goes.
“If you can’t get Marcelo, and you can’t, Alex Sandro is easily the second best option.”
Sandro has made 49 Serie A appearances for Juventus since joining from Porto in 2015.
