South Africa coach, Hugo Broos has come out to say that the result between Bafana and Algeria will not matter in the grand scheme of things. He, however, acknowledges that the World Cup qualifiers vs Nigeria and Zambia will be crunch, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he expects a difficult game from Algeria regardless because the team is filled with lots of quality players, so South Africa will not underrate them.
Broos added that it was a disappointment for all Algerians to see their team exit at AFCON 2023 group stages.
His words, “It will be a difficult game certainly because we all know that Algeria have a lot of quality.
It was a disappointment of all Algerians to see their team at Afcon where were out at the group stage even with much quality.
I watched the game they played on Friday against Bolivia and you see the motivation of the players is totally different because there is a new coach.
They want to show him that they deserve to be in the team. That motivation will be very big in their team, playing at home and the supporters being there.
It will be a good test after Afcon and we will try to have a good result but performance is much more important than the result,” he continued.
However, we need a good result to keep our rankings but it will be more important when we play Nigeria and Zimbabwe in June and there will be no excuses.”
WOW.
