Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, on Thursday inaugurated a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the sale, lease, and management of government-owned assets, companies, markets, and moribund industries in the state.
The commission, chaired by retired Justice Samson Itodo, was inaugurated at the Exco Extension Hall, Government House, Makurdi, where the chairman also took his oath of office.
The ceremony also featured the swearing-in of Barrister Moses Atagher as the new Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Governor Alia, while addressing the gathering, tasked the panel to prioritise accountability, fairness, and transparency in its assignment. He urged Justice Itodo to execute the responsibility with courage and integrity in the interest of the people of Benue.
“This responsibility demands firmness, honesty, and a commitment to justice in the overall interest of the people of Benue,” Alia stated.
In his remarks, Justice Itodo assured that the commission would discharge its duties diligently and transparently.
He recalled his experience in a similar role earlier in the year, pledging to bring the same level of dedication to the task.
