Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has urged Nigerians not to vote for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Amaechi warned that re-electing Tinubu could worsen the economic hardship facing Nigerians, particularly the rising cost of living and poverty.
The former Rivers State governor made the call while addressing Nigerians on the political situation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He criticised the Tinubu administration over its economic policies, arguing that many citizens were struggling to cope with the effects of the reforms introduced by the government.
Amaechi urged voters to carefully assess the performance of the present administration before deciding who to support at the polls.
He maintained that Nigerians should use their votes to demand better governance and reject policies that have allegedly increased hardship across the country.
The former minister also called on opposition political forces to remain united and present a credible alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the election.
Amaechi’s remarks come amid growing political realignments and heightened preparations for the 2027 presidential election, with opposition figures intensifying campaigns against the Tinubu administration.
He urged Nigerians to participate actively in the electoral process and make their votes count, stressing that the 2027 election would provide an opportunity for citizens to determine the direction of the country.
