The newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali has assumed duty in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following the swearing – in of ten new cabinet ministers by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan recently in the State House, Abuja.
He was received on arrival by the Minister of State I, Viola A. Onwuliri and the Minister of State II, Nurudeen Mohammed as well as the Permanent Secretary, Martin Uhomoihbi and other senior personnel.
Aminu Wali is the 26th Foreign Affairs Minister since Nigeria’s Independence in 1960 and was born on August 3, 1941 in Kano. He was until his appointment, Nigeria’s Ambassador to China from 2008.
He has served as Nigeria’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2004 to 2007 and the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters from 1999 to 2003. He is married with children.
