The Ogun government has come out to say that it would ensure Amotekun is not politicized when its bill is eventually passed into law.
Ogun state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Gbolahan Adeniran, revealed this during a stakeholders’ meeting on the Amotekun bill, held at the state House of Assembly complex in Abeokuta.
According to him, the recruitment system for the security outfit would be very rigorous that it would be very hard to hijack for any political reasons.
He added that Amotekun would guarantee the training of personnel and teachings on how they must remain respectful to Nigerians.
His words, “Security is one of the most important aspects of the Gov. Dapo Abiodun-led administration. This public hearing is the most important aspect of the bill. We will look at stakeholders’ contributions and incorporate them into the bill.”
