Nigeria’s U-23 coach Samson Siasia may be considering Anderlecht striker Ezekiel Imoh for next year’s Olympic. Siasia has made clear his intention to beef up the Nigeria U-23 side’s forward line with prolific scorers from the European Leagues.
The coach was furious about his strikers’ performance at the recently concluded All-Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville, where they won bronze, and plans to raid Europe for eligible Nigerians ahead of the qualification tournament for next year’s Olympic; the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.
Ezekiel, 21, has already been capped once at full international level and has scored twice in just two hours and 44 minutes of appearance in the Belgian top flight this season.
Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Taiwo Awoniyi, who is on loan to German Bundesliga 2 side FSV Frankfurt from Liverpool, are also being considered by Siasia.
Nigeria will face Egypt, Mali and Algeria in Group B of the U-23 Cup of Nations, which kicks off in Senegal in November.
