The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Mr. Augustine Agada, has been suspended by the party leadership in his Ward following allegations of anti-party activities leveled against him by Comrade Dan Onjeh, the party’s 2023 Senatorial candidate for Benue Zone C.
The suspension, which took place in Ehaje Ward 1, Owukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, came after Onjeh petitioned the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, accusing Agada of funding the campaign and election of some candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the last election.
Onjeh presented evidence of bank transactions allegedly involving Agada and some PDP members in his petition.

Agada, in response to the allegations, stated that he was not aware of them and did not wish to engage in a public dispute with Onjeh.
Following deliberations, the APC executives in Ehaje Ward 1 passed a vote of no confidence in Agada and suspended him from the party, citing seven grounds for their decision.
These included Agada’s failure to appear before the Ward Disciplinary Committee to address the allegations against him, evidence of him working against the party’s interest in the Benue South Senatorial District during the 2023 elections, campaigning for the PDP candidate, Sen. Abba Moro, and allegedly withholding funds provided by the national level APC for the Ward’s logistics and election day activities.
The ward leadership stated that the suspension was necessary to protect the party from Agada’s alleged political misconduct and to uphold discipline within the party ranks.
They emphasized that this action aimed to deter future anti-party activities and promote unity among party members.
The suspension of Augustine Agada highlights the internal dynamics within the APC in Benue State and reflects the party’s commitment to addressing issues of discipline and accountability among its members.
