Chief Tony Okocha, the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has refuted assertions that President Bola Tinubu handed over the party’s structure to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Okocha emphatically stated that Tinubu would not relinquish the party’s structure to Wike, emphasizing that the minister is not a member of the APC and has shown no inclination to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking during a live radio program in Port Harcourt on Monday, Okocha clarified, “If you are talking about an alliance, I aligned with Nyesom Wike, and I am still aligning with him.”

He dismissed the notion of Wike taking control of the APC, stating, “He is not a member of the APC for crying out loud, and everybody knows that he is a staunch founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
Addressing Wike’s political affiliation, Okocha asserted, “He hasn’t mentioned it to me, and he has not mentioned it to anybody. So, as we speak, he is a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party.
For anybody to assume that the President is handing over APC structure to a PDP member, that person will be missing the point.”
