A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayekooto Akindele, has launched a scathing attack on supporters of the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, describing him as an “epitome of failure.”
Akindele made the remark while reacting to a recent outburst by factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, who issued a veiled threat to expose details of financial dealings involving Obi and Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, during the last general elections.
Abure had said:
“If they provoke me further, I will reveal everything. When I open my mouth, they will stink like rotten eggs no one wants to touch.”
In response, Ayekooto took to his X (formerly Twitter) account, dismissing Abure’s threat and mocking Obi’s supporters.

“There’s nothing you can say that will make Obi become smelly eggs,” Ayekooto wrote. “All those supporting him already knew him so well before hyping him.”
The APC chieftain’s comments come amid deepening internal wrangling within the Labour Party, as party leaders exchange accusations over campaign financing and internal accountability.
