The ruling All Progressives Congress has declared Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential candidate following the conclusion of the party’s nationwide primary election.
Tinubu secured 10.99 million votes to defeat his only challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,504 votes in the exercise conducted across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to figures released from the primaries, Lagos State recorded the highest votes for Tinubu with 814,988 votes, followed by Adamawa with 644,149 votes and Kaduna with 618,914 votes.

Other states where the president recorded significant victories include Imo with 582,960 votes, Kano with 500,852 votes, Katsina with 467,003 votes, Gombe with 450,517 votes and Borno with 414,988 votes.
In the South-South region, Tinubu polled 407,646 votes in Delta, 389,197 in Akwa Ibom, 280,082 in Rivers and 227,192 in Bayelsa.
In the South-East, he secured 383,382 votes in Enugu, 207,579 in Ebonyi, 161,005 in Abia and 43,034 in Anambra.
Other results showed that Tinubu polled 374,787 votes in Benue, 322,485 in Ogun, 321,579 in Zamfara, 310,990 in Kwara, 301,000 in Sokoto and 292,972 in Kebbi.
He also garnered 285,436 votes in Nasarawa, 253,804 in Yobe, 241,720 in Plateau, 206,520 in Jigawa, 197,370 in Kogi and 183,698 in Taraba.
Further breakdown of the results showed that the president scored 181,996 votes in Ondo, 175,487 in Niger, 156,541 in Bauchi, 142,754 in Oyo, 121,098 in Edo, 113,911 in Cross River, 100,888 in Osun and 85,340 in Ekiti.
In the FCT, Tinubu polled 36,103 votes.
The APC said the outcome of the primary reflected the confidence of party members in Tinubu’s leadership ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
