Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have described the recent resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, as part of the APC’s natural evolution and institutional growth.
The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) made this known in a communiqué issued on Saturday at the end of its two-day strategic regional meeting held in Benin City, Edo State, hosted by Governor Monday Okpebholo. The communiqué was read by the PGF Chairman and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma.
According to the governors, the APC remains the most coherent political party in Nigeria, with a strong track record of reforms, electoral victories, and national unity.

They noted that the influx of governors, lawmakers, and stakeholders into the party signals widespread confidence in its leadership and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Forum formally welcomed Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State into the APC, describing his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as further evidence of growing support for Tinubu’s policies.
The APC governors pledged to work together to implement bold reforms, promote institutional trust, and accelerate socio-economic growth nationwide.
They resolved to stay true to the party’s values, embracing technology, innovation, and collaboration to drive development from the grassroots.
The PGF also urged Nigerians at home and abroad to unite behind Tinubu and the APC to build a secure, inclusive, and progressive nation.
On security, the Forum commended security agencies’ ongoing efforts and expressed condolences to families affected by insecurity, particularly in Benue and Niger States. They called for increased investment in surveillance, improved welfare for security personnel, and stronger grassroots intelligence and community policing.
The governors also stressed the vital role of local governments in delivering services and strengthening democratic inclusion, pledging to reinvigorate governance at the grassroots level.
