The All Progressives Congress (APC) Legal Team has raised allegations against the 200 lawyers associated with the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) who convened a press conference in Kaduna, accusing them of engaging in unethical acts with the intent of creating political turmoil.
Last week, lawyers identifying themselves as Counsels to NNPP had criticized the Court of Appeal for what they termed a miscarriage of justice in the judgment against Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
In response, the APC Legal Team, speaking in Kano on Wednesday, deemed the actions of NNPP lawyers as contrary to legal principles and the essence of justice.

Hadiza Nasir Ahmad, the Secretary of the APC Legal Team, along with Chairman Mustapha Idiris, warned against attempts to tarnish the court’s image or engage in blackmail, emphasizing that such actions are unequivocally unacceptable.
Addressing the NNPP lawyers, Barrister Hadiza Nasir Ahmad urged them to rise above political considerations and allow the court to carry out its duties without external interference.
She emphasized the need for lawyers, as guardians of justice, to uphold the integrity of the legal profession, even in the face of unfavorable judgments.
Expressing concern, the APC legal team alleged that NNPP, its lawyers, and supporters are actively promoting a demonstration to protest court decisions.
They warned that these actions could potentially lead to chaos and intimidation of the court and the judiciary.
Despite these concerns, the APC Legal Team expressed confidence in the court’s commitment to conducting cases solely on their merit, undeterred by external tactics.
They commended the people of Kano for their law-abiding nature and refusal to be swayed into unnecessary protests on the streets.
