A crisis might have engulfed the Kano State ruling All Progressive Congress APC, as the party leadership moves to sack two of its House of Representatives members, Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada and Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe for organizing parallel congresses on Saturday.
Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada representing Kano Municipal and Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe representing Dawakin Today/Rimin Gado Federal Constituency had organized a parallel APC Congress against the leadership of the party in Kano.
Similarly, the duo also reportedly announced that their Congress was genuine and followed the party’s constitutional position.
However, in a swift reaction to the Federal Lawmakers parallel Congresses, the State Secretary of APC, Ibrahim Zakari Sarina, said, “what Shaaban and Jobe did was null and void because it has gone against the principles of party elections”.
The Secretary warned that if Ibrahim Sharada and Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe insisted on standing on the parallel Congresses, then the party will have no option but to expel them.
Zakari Sarina hinted that when the congresses were organized, the Party Leadership from the Headquarters sent Congress organizing Committee and when they arrived they openly spelt out to every interesting true party member that they were in Kano.
“These set of Congress organizing Committee naturally stayed at the recognized Party Secretariat where they conducted their activities and they witnessed the Consensus Congress in Kano and they are already back in Abuja, so anything else will be vehemently rejected, and will be faced with stiff punishment”.
The State Secretary of the Party, warned Sharada and Tijjani Abdulkadir Jobe not to cause chaos in the peaceful APC in Kano, adding that, “we are waiting for them to make the mistake of sending their illegal Congress reports to Abuja then we will take appropriate action against them”.
It will be recalled that Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada was suspended from the party at his Sharada Ward for alleged anti-party activities.
