The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed determination to secure victory in the upcoming governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states.
Nze Chidi Duru, the APC Deputy National Organising Secretary, made this declaration at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
Duru assured the 16 candidates vying for the APC’s ticket for the Ondo State governorship election on November 16, 2024, of a fair, open, and transparent primary election scheduled for April 20.
He emphasized the significance of the Edo State governorship election as a test case, noting that the party is committed to determining its candidate through a free and fair process.
Duru highlighted the positive outcome of negotiations with some dissenting members, leading to a stronger and more united APC team.
He stated, “They came to the negotiation table, had a handshake, and now we have a very formidable team, and we believe that APC would win Edo state, and if we trust that APC would win Edo state, we have confidence that APC will win Ondo state.”
Duru’s remarks underscore the party’s optimism and readiness to secure victories in both states, signaling a strategic approach to the upcoming elections.
