Senator Barau Jibrin, the Senate’s Deputy President, has predicted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will quickly rebound from the blow it took after the results of the recent elections in Kano State.
Jibrin called on party members and supporters in Kano to work together, and he was optimistic that the party will make a comeback there.
Senator Barau, who welcomed members of the Kano State chapter of the Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen, ALGOVC, to the Senate, predicted that if the APC stays together and prays, the tribunal’s decision would be in the party’s favour.
Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) was declared the victor of the March 18 governorship election in Kano State, but the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) has filed an electoral petition disputing this decision.
”We trust that the tribunal will rule in our favour, and we pray for their swift decision. God has everything under control. Join forces and help each other out. With God’s help, the people of Kano State will quickly recover.
Since we are currently the opposition, many people will be looking to us for leadership. We need to stick together for the good of the party, he remarked.
Senator Barau thanked the vice chairmen of local governments for their visit and promised to keep working with them to raise the level of living in their communities.
The state and municipal governments play a crucial role. To help our people, we will keep working with you to solve their problems. You have earned our admiration and praise. Let’s keep working together, he said.
They are here to congratulate Senator Barau on his election as the Deputy President of the Senate, as stated earlier by the association’s chairman, Alhaji Yakubu Musa Naira.
