Hyde Kalu, a rising star in the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to drop his lawsuit against President Bola Tinubu in the United States.
In the lawsuit, Atiku had demanded that Tinubu’s alma mater, Chicago State University, disclose his academic transcript.
In a statement released on Monday, Kalu encouraged Atiku to let Nigeria’s courts resolve any conflicts that may arise from the 2023 presidential election.

He pointed out that the legal fight in the US has made Nigeria seem bad in international circles.
The APC youth leader claimed the rally was called for because the incident was bringing unwanted attention to Nigeria.
He pleaded with Atiku to save the country the shame.
“Atiku is a statesman, and it is not in contention that he has the love of Nigeria at heart,” the statement continued.
No Nigerian, I’m sure, is pleased with the way our country has been mocked because of the American court’s decision.
We must beg Atiku to drop the matter and refrain from allowing us to air our dirty laundry in public for the sake of the country and the dignity of the Nigerian people.
“We are all patriots, and I have faith that we can find an honorable resolution to this situation that will spare Nigerians the humiliation to which they are currently being subjected.
A new president has taken office after the election. For the good of the country and out of respect for his friendship with President Tinubu, I am begging Atiku to drop the litigation in the United States.
