Dr. Salihu Lukman, former National Vice Chairman, North-West of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has sounded a cautionary note, predicting that the ruling party could face expulsion from power in 2027.
Lukman delivered this warning during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, preceding the launch of his forthcoming book scheduled for the following Tuesday.
Expressing concern over the state of affairs in the country, Lukman highlighted the possibility of internal rebellion within the APC if urgent steps are not taken to address prevailing issues.

The APC stalwart lamented the increasing difficulties faced by citizens under a party that was initially envisioned as progressive.
He articulated, “Life is becoming more difficult. We must appeal to our leaders that things are almost getting out of hand at the rate at which we are going under a party that is envisioned to be progressive.”
Lukman further cautioned that unless corrective actions are taken, the party might face expulsion in 2027, potentially reverting Nigeria to the conditions of 2015.
In reference to his upcoming book, Lukman clarified that it documents his experiences in the struggle that led to the emergence of President Bola Tinubu.
Contrary to speculations, he asserted that his resignation from the National Working Committee (NWC) did not signify rebellion against Tinubu but rather an obligation to communicate the unvarnished truth to the President.
He emphasized, “I think we owe our leader the responsibility or President Asiwaju the responsibility to tell him the honest truth.”
