Chief Edozie Njoku, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has raised serious allegations against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), claiming a plot to suppress the party’s recognition.
Njoku, who recently asserted that INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu would face contempt charges, accused the electoral body of ignoring court orders acknowledging him as the legitimate National Chairman of APGA.
A recent development in Njoku’s legal battles saw the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Bwari Area Council dismiss all forgery allegations brought against him by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

The charges were related to an alleged conspiracy to alter a Supreme Court judgment delivered by Justice Mary Peter Odili (rtd). Justice Madugu, in delivering the judgment, emphasized the lack of credible evidence and the prosecution’s failure to prove its case against Njoku.
Addressing reporters after the court ruling, Njoku expressed his frustration with INEC’s refusal to recognize his leadership.
He stated, “Now that the criminal charge has been discharged, and another judgment has affirmed my position as the national chairman, how can INEC continue to deny my recognition? Is this an attempt to restrain APGA? Perhaps it’s a conspiracy to keep APGA grounded, but APGA must be free now as there are no charges against us.”
As the legal battle unfolds, APGA supporters await further developments, questioning the motives behind the alleged resistance by INEC to recognize Njoku’s leadership within the party.
