A lot has been talked about Apple Car and the company’s partnership with different car makers over the past few months.
However, nothing has been confirmed and all the news that we have heard about, comes from tipsters and analysts.
A new report now states that Apple might finally reveal some information about its new platform in the coming months.
According to Wedbush analyst Dan Ives, the company might give some details on the ‘Project Titan’ aka Apple Car project; in the next 3-6 months.
Ives said this during a segment on CNBC Television.
However, the analyst did predict that Apple might not launch its self-driving car platform until 2024. But some information will have to be revealed in order to “lay the groundwork for an Apple Car.”
As per Ives, Apple has not yet found any partner for its project.
Apple has been working on its self-driving car project since years, according to reports and has been facing a rather tough time partnering with a car manufacturer.
After Hyundai and Kia, the company was recently said to be in talks with a Canadian car maker – Magna.
To be specific, Apple is said to join Magna and LG’s joint automotive venture – LG Magna e-Powertrain.
The contract requires both LG and Magna to work on the initial rounds of Apple Car production; as reported by The Korean Times.
Also mentioned is that the partnership of LG and Magna is itself expected to complete later this year; and with Apple as one of their main clients.
In case you are wondering, both LG and Magna have been offering supply parts including battery packs; motors and more to automobile companies like Tesla, General Motors, Ford, and BMW.
