Apple is expected to focus on minor but important upgrades for the iPhone 13 series.
One area would be the cameras which are set to receive upgraded ultra wide angle lenses, according to analysts.
In an investor note shared with Mac Rumors, Barclays analysts Blayne Curtis and Thomas O’Malley said the ultra wide angle lens on all four iPhone 13 models will have a wider f/1.8 aperture.
On the iPhone 12 models, the aperture is f/2.4.
This would mean better low-light photography on the iPhone 13 series.
The analysts added that the iPhone 13 Pro will also feature the iPhone 12 Pro Max’s telephoto lens; with a 65mm focal length and f/2.2 aperture.
The latest update on the iPhone 13 cameras reiterates what Ming-Chi Kuo said; last November about the upgraded ultra wide angle lens on the iPhone 13 series. But Kuo expects only the iPhone 13 Pro to feature this, and that Apple will adopt this for all four iPhones in 2022 and not this year.
The iPhone 13 launch is still months away so we’re expecting to see more details on the upgrades and improvements.
In addition to better cameras, Apple is also highly expected to introduce an in I did play Touch ID on the iPhone 13 series.
Another first for an iPhone we may see this year is 120Hz displays.
In terms of design, the iPhone 13 series will most likely look the same as the iPhone 12 models given that; they already had a major refresh last year. But there are reports of a smaller notch this time.
