Arsenal Must Be Careful With Saka’s Workload – Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed the reason behind Bukayo Saka’s half-time withdrawal during the club’s 3-0 victory over Fulham. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, Saka‘s substitution was a strategic decision to manage the winger’s physical workload, so reports about another injury setback should be ignored.

Hailing Bukayo’s impact and mental readiness as the club chases a historic double, Arteta stressed that the England international can still be the difference maker.

His words, “We had to, he played 30-odd minutes in Madrid, now he’s played 45 minutes. We need to ramp up his load but we need to be careful because we need him on that pitch.

I think the pain is gone and that was obviously something that was restricting his capacity to deliver certain actions. Today he felt loose, he felt relaxed and I think we had the Bukayo that we need back.

He certainly made a difference. He made two actions that decided the game and we know what he’s capable of. He’s come back in the most important period of the season and now he’s fresh, his mind is fresh, his hunger is at the highest possible height and I think he needed a performance like that to impact the team, so that’s a big platform for Tuesday.”
